Let’s Talk About Accessibility in the Community! Part 2 of our Autism Spectrum Disorder Introduction
November 1 @ 6:30 pm
FreeEven if you missed our first presentation (An Introduction to Autism Spectrum Disorder) we strongly encourage you or someone you know impacted by ASD to join us for part 2: Let’s Talk About Accessibility in the Community. Dr. Jessica Patton, President and founder of Sense of Connection, will recap part 1: An Introduction to Autism Spectrum Disorder before we dive into the barriers that have limited those affected by ASD from accessing resources within their community.
Recently, the F.D. Campbell Memorial Library was awarded a grant from the American Library Association’s Libraries Transforming Communities Initiative. This initiative gives funds to a small amount of rural libraries to help fund Civic Engagement, Health Information, and materials needed to help these libraries to become more accessible to individuals with disabilities. We highly recommend you participate and engage others in discussion of limitations, issues, or reasons you haven’t been successful in reaching resources. You have questions, Dr. Patton hopes to give you answers, and the library wants to help!
